![]() There is not a magic keypress that will always work for closing a window or escaping from a process. I highly recommend developing your experiment with fullscr=False, and then changing to fullscr=True in the final stages and for running subjects. Hi I don't know if this is a bug in PsychoPy or just an installation issue. (This switch is in Builder > Experiment settings > Screen > Full-screen Window - uncheck to box, or the fullscr=False parameter when creating a Window instance in code.) Its much easier to switch back and forth and close zombie windows if you are not in full-screen mode. I posted this in the PsychoPy forum a few days ago, but so far nobody has responded, so I thought I'd try here. I downloaded and installed PsychoPy v3.0 using t. I went to line 209 where there was a comma on. I have opened the console tab and the message it shows is this: Schermata alle 21.49.14 734×138 23.1 KB. In the Builder, the 'escape' key often will work like a magic key, but only because some code generated by the Builder specifically listens for the 'escape' key and will bail out if it gets one. Description of the problem:I built my experiment on PsychoPy and uploaded it to Pavlovia, but when I click on the URL and try to run it, it gets stuck on initializing the experiment. Multiple file types can be output from a single experiment (e.g. (Compile a Builder script and check out the code!). Excel data file for a quick browse, Log file to check for error messages and PsychoPy data. Note that there is an Experiment setting which allows you to disable escape, so even this is not guaranteed to work.įrom the Coder, if you make a 2-line program like this and run, it will shut the window itself when it ends: from psychopy import visual I have just installed v2022.1.1 standalone on several machines (both a Windows 10 and a Windows server machine), and for i observe the following: dots demo: the dots don't move but are static. Putting core.quit() somewhere in the code will have the same effect as the script ending at the end (i.e., the window will close down fine). If you have a window already created, you can close it without quitting PsychoPy, but you have to know how to refer to that window instance and tell it to close() - w1 in the example below: from psychopy import visual SMITE: A toolbox for creating Psychophysics Toolbox and PsychoPy experiments with SMI eye trackers Niehorster, Diederick C. If not then just delete and start from scratch. W2 = visual.Window() # another, new window pops open Im using coder in version 1.78.01 of PsychoPy on a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 machine. Unfortunately, Im not receiving an error message, the textstim is. ![]() Multiple windows closing and reopening is not common usage-if you find yourself doing it, there's probably a better way. But it does illustrate how to close a window.
